One of my Ph.D students is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in a pigment cell and melanoma research laboratory in the United States. He is currently working on transcriptional regulation in pigment cells. He will receive his Ph. D on July 2012. He has a strong background in the research field of Pigment Cell and Molecular Biology, Pigmentation, and Diseases of Pigment Cells, and has extensive experience in the field of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. He already has two first author publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and another manuscript is in preparation. The focus of her research is the photobiological responses of human melanocytes, modulation of these responses by melanocyte stimulating hormone and the melanocortin 1 receptor, and the signaling pathways activated by UV-induced paracrine and autocrine factors. These projects are funded primarily by NIH R01 grants. Since the position of postdoctoral fellow is supported by NIH T32 training grant, the candidate should be an American citizen or a permanent resident of the U.S.A. Minimum requirements for the position are a Ph.D. in Biology, with expertise in cell and molecular biology techniques, including tissue culture, imunocytochemistry, Western blotting, and PCR. The candidate should be willing to work collaboratively as a team member.
